WAV vs MP3 vs M4A

WAV is lossless/large and best for editing; MP3/M4A are lossy/small for sharing/web; OGG is open but less compatible than MP3. Browser playback depends on container/codec, not the extension. For a one-off trim, export WAV from this page, then convert once to the target format instead of re-encoding repeatedly.
